Contents of the Global Warfighter League COD:WaW All in One Server Package
  • COD:WW Server Setup Readme - contains instructions for setting up server with contents of this package and how to set server up for a GWL match.

  • mp_gwl_openwarfare - copy this folder and ALL of it's contents to the /mod directory.

    Folder Contains:
      z_openwarfare.iwd (v1.6.2)
      mod.ff (v1.6.2)
      z_svr_rs_gwl.iwd (v1.1)
      gwl.cfg
      gwl_hc.cfg
      gwl_bolts.cfg
      gwl_bolts_hc.cfg
      gwl_pistols_hc.cfg

  • Files to be placed in the pb directory - upload files contained in this folder to the pb directory.

    Folder Contains:
      pbbans_lg_gwlcod5.cfg (v1.1)
      pbbans_lg_none.cfg

  • (Optional) Files to be placed in the main directory - contains match.cfg with scorebot variables to use for matches. Must be uploaded to the main directory. You must change server name, password, rcon password, welcome message and # of slots on the server if you use this config.

    *If you don't use the match.cfg mentioned above, you will need to add the following variables to your server config in order for the scorebot to work properly.

Server installation instructions:
Please take note where you will need to upload a folder and it's contents or just files from that folder.
  • 1. Stop the server - you should always stop server before installing or removing any files

  • 2. **You will need to add the following lines to your server.cfg file in the /main directory.
      sets __Game_Allies_Scores ""
      sets __Game_Axis_Scores ""
      sets __Game_Mod ""
      sets __Game_Mod_Version ""
      sets __Game_Round ""
      sets __Game_Scores ""
      sets __Game_Status ""
      sets __Match_League ""
      sets __Match_League_Long ""

    If these variables are not present in the server.cfg file, the scorebot will not work. You can continue to use your default server.cfg file in the main directory, with the lines above added into it.

    **A generic match.cfg including the variables above is included in this package in the Files to be placed in the main directory. You must change server name, password, rcon password, welcome message and # of slots on the server if you use this config.

  • 3. Upload/Copy the mp_gwl_openwarfare folder and ALL of it's contents into the mods directory.
      mod.ff
      z_openwarfare.iwd
      z_svr_rs_gwl.iwd
      gwl.cfg - GWL COD:WaW Ladders
      gwl_hc.cfg - GWL COD:WaW Hardcore Ladders
      gwl_bolts.cfg - GWL COD:WaW Bolts Only Ladders
      gwl_bolts_hc.cfg - GWL COD:WaW Hardcore Bolts Only Ladders
      gwl_pistols_hc.cfg - GWL COD:WaW Hardcore Pistols Only Ladders

  • 4. Upload/Copy the files contained in the PB Configs folder to the pb directory on your server.

    Files to be placed in pb directory:
      pbbans_lg_gwlcod5.cfg
      pbbans_lg_none.cfg

  • 5. Change your startup command line - this varies on server companies or if you are hosting from a dedicated box.

    You will need to add the following 2 parameters to your startup command line:

      +set fs_game mods/mp_gwl_openwarfare

      +set fs_localAppData C:\COD_World_at_War
      (path to CoD:WaW root directory)

    If you do not know the path to your servers CoD:WaW root directory, then enter the following command in your server's console (or through rcon) and it will return the root directory:

    /rcon fs_homepath

    Example from a dedicated box:

    C:\COD_World_at_War\CoDWaWmp.exe +set dedicated 2 +set fs_localAppData C:\COD_World_at_War +set net_ip 12.34.567.890 +set net_port 28960 +set fs_game mods/mp_gwl_openwarfare +set sv_maxclients 32 +set sv_punkbuster 1 +exec match.cfg +map_rotate

    **localAppData may be different between server providers. If you are unable to add the localAppData parameter through your command line changer, you may need to contact your server provider to make these changes for you.

  • 6. Be sure the GlobalWarfighter League flag is checked at PBBans under Enhanced League Options.

    • login to your AccCP at PBBans
    • Manage servers
    • Modify
    • Check GlobalWarfighter League (under Enhanced League Options)
    • click Edit Flags

  • 7. Start your server

To set server up for a match:

Join server

/rcon login password - login to rcon

/rcon g_password "______" - Sets a join password for the server. Password must be enclosed in quotes. This can also be set in the server.cfg or match.cfg in the /main directory. To Remove the server password, use the command: /rcon g_password "" - Sets no password for the server.

/rcon map_restart - restarts the map

/rcon set g_gametype XX - Sets gametype

Gametypes:
    dm = Deathmatch/Free for All
    tdm = Team Deathmatch
    sd = Search & Destroy
    sab = Sabotage
    ctf = Capture the Flag
    dom = Domination
    koth = Headquaters
    twar = War


/rcon map_restart - Restarts the map.

/rcon map mp_mapname

    mp_castle
    mp_hangar
    mp_subway (station)

/rcon exec XXX.cfg - This will load the correct OpenWarfare Ruleset for GWL matches along with setting the required PBBans flags and loading the Global Warfighter PB Config for competition. See server settings in rules under specific ladder you are competing on to know which .cfg to execute.

Configs:
/rcon exec gwl.cfg - loads GWL Normal Ruleset
/rcon exec gwl_hc.cfg - loads GWL Hardcore Ruleset
/rcon exec gwl_bolts.cfg - loads GWL Bolts Only Ruleset
/rcon exec gwl_bolts_hc.cfg - loads GWL Hardcore Bolts Only Ruleset
/rcon exec gwl_pistols_hc.cfg - loads GWL Hardcore Pistols Only Ruleset


A message will show which ruleset is loading and the map will restart into ready up mode. You should see the following checksums scrolling to verify this is the GWL Ruleset and has not been tampered with.

openwarefare.iwd: -2168828
z_svr_rs_gwl.iwd: 885469637

Misc. Match Commands for Captains and players

Shift ~ to bring down full console.

/pb_plist This is a punkbuster list of all players in the server. Its used for checking guid's on a host server.

/screenshotjpeg (your file name) This will create a screenshot. Captains can use for taking screenshots of players guids in the server after using /pb_plist or for taking screenshots of scorescreens.

/record (yourfilename) Records a new demo.

/stoprecord Stops recording your demo

-License key is no longer required to run a Dedicated Server.
-A Dedicated Server can now be started from the Command Line via -Remote Desktop Connection.
-Various fixes in Server Browser.
-Players will no longer see multiple friend invites from the same friends.
-When a player calls in a recon plane in a Hardcore match, the HUD will properly appear.
-Clan Tags will now display in game where appropriate.
-Map holes fixed
-Spawn improvements and weapon balancing

Notes:


  • /record and /demo enabled in MP.
  • Server Log File improvements, including:
  • Team Names on Kill loglines.
  • Round Win and Loss.
  • Timestamps.
  • Additional action logging (took flag, destroyed headquarters, planted bomb, etc).
  • Improved sound initialization for Vista - fixes loss of sound for audio devices set higher than 16 bit 48000 Hz.
  • Screenshots no longer overwrite each other.
  • Tweaked autobalance on select game modes.

Notes:


  • 3 new Multiplayer maps: Kneedeep, Nightfire, Station!
  • Nazi Zombies map with more weapons, Perks-a-Cola machines, and electroshock defenses: Verrückt!
  • Improved spawning logic.
  • Auto balancing improvements. Players are no longer auto balanced while completing objectives.
  • Mods: IWD's can be placed in the usermaps folder.
  • Mods: Hold Breath / Sprint functions as intended.
  • Mods: MissingAssets.csv is generated when maps are run with developer set to 1.
  • Fixed lag caused by shooting at tanks.
  • All rifle grenades fired during the first 15 seconds of Search & Destroy will be duds.
  • Players who equip a Bouncing Betty and melee teammates in Hardcore game modes are now credited with a team kill penalty.
  • Players are now deducted 200 points for team killing the bomb planter/defuser in Hardcore Search & Destroy.
  • Martyrdom no longer causes direct impact deaths in Hardcore modes.
  • "Bayonet jumping" has been disabled.

Players only need to install the mp_gwl_openwarfare folder and its contents (mod.ff, openwarfare.iwd) to their mods folder.

Path to CoDWaW mods directory on XP is:

C:\Documents and Settings\Your name\Local Settings\Application Data\Activision\CoDWaW\mods

Path to CoDWaW mods directory on Vista is:

C:\AppData\Local Data\Activision\CoDWaW\

This will save you downloading time when joining a gwl match server, especially if they do not have redirect set up.

**A helpful hint for players that have issue's with CoD:WaW crashing when joining a modded server is to start game, click Mods, select mod you will be playing on in server, click Launch, mod will launch, click Join Game and join the server.
