GWL CoD4 Match Checklist (Guide)
February 15, 2009, 3:20 am - triphamm3r
CoD: Modern WarfareGuides
GWL CoD4 Match Checklist (GUIDE)
=========================
Although this is ALL in the GWL CoD4 rules in some shape or form and teams and players should be making themselves aware of ALL the GWL CoD4 rules (not just these I've singled out here)... I thought maybe a quick "checklist" for some might help a bit with a few issues. This is just a quick rundown of the GWL CoD4 match process... and is only meant as a guide.
Once a challenge is accepted:
Defender:
-Defender has server choice and is responsible for getting a server for the match. Post server info in matchcoms within 24 hrs of accepting a challenge.
**If DEFENDER does not have a server to use, they must post in matchcoms and either ask to use the challenger's server or request a GWL CoD4 Match server (at least 24 hours scheduling notice before matchtime is required for GWL server. Post your request in matchcoms and hit the "Request Admin" button).
-Server should already be set up for the match BEFORE your opponent/s enter the server to play. Server must be streaming to BOTH PBBans and PunksBusted, running OpenWarfare Mod v1.62, GWL Ruleset v1.0 and the GWL Punkbuster config to be considered eligible for match play. Setting up server gametype and GWL rulesets are individual to the ladder and "setup" can be found in the individual ladder rules.
Challenger:
Verify streaming status to BOTH PBBans and PunksBusted with server info provided by the defender in matchcoms.
-Check the server's streaming status to PBBANS. Click PBBans Server Search HERE and enter the ServerIP:Port and click "Search".
-Check the server's streaming status to PsB (PunksBusted) click PunksBusted Server Search HERE and enter the ServerIP:Port and click "Check".
Match Negotiations:
ALL match negotiations should take place in matchcoms. If you have an Xfire conversation.. Copy/paste the conversation into matchcoms to confirm for the record.
Player Verification:
Once all players are in the server, each team should have a Captain or player responsible for taking a screenshot of player GUID's in the server. This can be done by opening console <Shift> ~ and type /pb_plist, take a screenshot of the player guid's listed by typing /screenshotjpeg filename
GUID's in the server should be checked against COD4 GUID's listed at GWL by both team captains (or reps) BEFORE match starts. Player's MUST have a valid CoD4 Punkbuster GUID on file at GWL (method as described in the GWL CoD4 Rules). Team captains should be making sure their players have their required PB GUID registered at GWL to avoid any issues.
To check opponent's GUIDs... go to that team's profile page at GWL... find the correct roster for the match you're playing and click (View guid list), and this will list the COD4 PB GUID's on file for that team's ladder roster.
GWL Ruleset Verification:
To verify the correct GWL Ruleset is being run on the match server for your particular GWL match being played...While in the "ready up" period... You should see the following checksums scrolling to verify this is the GWL Ruleset and has not been tampered with.
mod.ff: 682500
openwarefare.iwd: -676007837
z_svr_rs_gwl.iwd: -2102141382
**Team captains should take note of what weapons, classes, and perks are available as compared to the rules regarding their individual ladder to verify the ruleset hasn't been modified. Modifying the GWL ruleset is strictly against the rules and requires immediate GWL CoD4 Admin notification.
GWL CoD4 PB Config Verification:
To verify the GWL CoD4 PB Config is running on the match server, the following message will scroll every 3 minutes in server messages "GlobalWF.com PunkBuster Config For CoD4 Competition - Version 2.0 - 6/1/09"
**All players are REQUIRED to record match demo's**
Players should start recording before they ready up.
To record a demo: open console with ~ and type /record filename (a message in the lower left corner of screen will show the demo name and file size as it's being recorded).
To stop recording: Before leaving the server at the end of the match players should stop recording. Do this by opening console with ~ and type /stoprecord.
-Demo's must be maintained for 72 hours. When an admin requests demos, they must be provided within 24hrs.
Demo's are stored on your local harddrive.
C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\Mods\gwl_openwarfare\demos
**Some players with Vista that do not have their UAC (User Account Control) turned off may not be able to find the PAM4 folder thru Windows Explorer. Most ppl have had luck finding the demos AND screenshots by using WinRAR to find the files and they are exactly where they belong. Others have backed up their CoD4 profile and turned off UAC then restored their CoD4 profiles and are able to find them then. ...OR if you are not running CoD4 as an administrator you can try this path to find the folders.
C:\Users(Username)\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\Mods\gwl_openwarfare
(You?ll need to make sure you have "Show Hidden Files" turned on)
**Screenshots**:
-Screenshots are to be taken of (but not limited to) the following:
- Screenshot of <Shift> ~ /pb_plist to show PB GUID's for all players in the server
- End of round / match scores
- End of round / match tickets
- Each team's player roster and GUID list
- Player Substitutions
- Any view supporting a dispute
-Screenshots are stored on your local harddrive.
C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\Mods\gwl_openwarfare\screenshots
-Screenshots must be maintained for 72 hours. When an admin requests screenshots they must be provided within 24hrs.
*Screenshots are not required by all players as long as the required demo is recorded that captures all required information. However, team Captains or team reps are absolutely REQUIRED to take the screenshots listed above.
Last but NOT least...
Losses/Disputes:
The defeated team MUST report the loss within 1 hour of match completion. If you are disputing the win... DO NOT REPORT THE LOSS! Notice of intent to file a dispute must be posted in matchcoms within an hour of the match. A formal dispute must be filed within 12 hours. No disputes will be investigated once a loss has been reported. Accusations without evidence will be thrown out. Please see GWL competition rules for filing a dispute.
